HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com)  —  A suspect wanted in a deadly shooting that occurred outside a Hollywood nightclub last summer was apprehended Thursday in Las Vegas.

Brian Long, 36, faces a murder charge and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon in the June 2014 incident.

Long was arrested by US Marshals.

Five people were also injured in the pre-dawn attack at a pre-BET Awards party held at a restaurant and banquet hall in the 1100 block of North Vermont Avenue.

Lavell L.Smith, 33, died at the scene.

It was unclear when Long would be extradited back to California for formal arraignment.
