Oxnard Man, 19, Accused Of Trying To Lure Girl, 12

OXNARD (CBSLA.com)  —  An Oxnard man is behind bars, accused of trying to lure a girl he met online.

Officials said the Oxnard Police Department was contacted by a concerned parent in December about man talking provocatively online to her daughter.

While monitoring her daughter on social media, the parent learned the man exchanged lewd material with the child, who is 12, via social media apps, police said.

After a two-month investigation, the Oxnard Police Department's Family Protection Unit arrested Wesley Jacob Rolen, 19, at his residence in the 1800 block of Lookout Drive.

Rolen was arrested on various charges, including child enticement, child annoying, sending obscene/lewd material to a child and possessing child pornography.

He is in custody at the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $150,000.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information should contact detective Terrance Dobrosky at (805) 385-7609.

The Oxnard Police Department wants to remind parents about the importance of monitoring the websites their children visit or the apps they use on their phones or mobile devices. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has information/ideas about Internet safety, computers, child safety and the web.
