Former 'Power Rangers' Actor Held On Suspicion Of Murder Faces New Allegations

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The former "Power Rangers" actor police are holding on suspicion of murdering his roommate is facing new allegations from the victim's sister.

Ricardo Medina Jr., 36, is being held on $1 million bail in the stabbing death of Joshua Sutter.

Rachel Kennedy says Sutter, her brother, worked and lived with Medina at her puppy rescue facility in Green Valley, near Santa Clarita, and that they wanted to evict Medina from the property for not taking proper care of the animals.

"My brother was very frustrated with Rick, but he was not the kind of person to confront anybody," Kennedy said. "No one deserves to be killed like that."

Investigators say Sutter and Medina got into a fight Saturday at the home in the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road.

Medina told detectives he went to his bedroom with his girlfriend but Sutter barged in. Medina allegedly grabbed a sword and stabbed Sutter in the stomach to protect himself.

Kennedy says the actor was protective of his bedroom and often talked about owning a sword.

"If anyone were to get near that room or go in that room, I feel that he would do something terrible," she said.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Medina starred in 2002 as the Red Wild Force Ranger in "Power Rangers Wild Force," and later acted as Deker in "Power Rangers Samurai."

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office is asking the L.A. County Sheriff's Department for further investigation.

Sutter leaves behind a daughter.
