Father, Son Identified In Koreatown Double Murder-Suicide

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Coroner's officials released identities of two of three people Monday who were found dead over the weekend inside a Koreatown apartment, where a double murder-suicide is believed to have occurred.

One of the victims was identified as 86-year-old Saeng Mah and the other man was identified as 54-year-old Hee Mah, Los Angeles County coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz said.

A woman had not yet been positively identified Monday.

The case was reported to the coroner's office as a double murder-suicide, and the autopsies are pending, Dietz said.

Detectives believe a man in the Koreatown section of Los Angeles killed his parents, then took his own life, police said.

A foul odor from the apartment led to the manager discovering the bodies inside the apartment in the 1100 block of Crenshaw Boulevard. Paramedics pronounced the family dead and called in detectives at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Anyone with information about the deaths can call West Bureau homicide detectives at (213) 382-9470.
