Woman Found Stabbed To Death Inside Burning Van Nuys Apartment
VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A woman found deceased in an apartment fire in the 14000 block of Saticoy Street in Van Nuys early Saturday morning was stabbed to death, Los Angeles police said.
Firefighters, who were called to the scene at 5:06 a.m., discovered the body after dousing the blaze in the two-story apartment building, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Arson and homicide investigators were at the scene later Saturday morning trying to determine the circumstances that led to the fire and the death.
Police are looking for a suspect described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, according to LAPD officer Rosario Herrera, who did not have a description of the victim..
Neighbors told CBS2's Louisa Hodge that the victim lived with the man and that the couple fought repeatedly.
