Shoppers Voice Concern Over Adult-Themed Love Kit Sold At Albertsons

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — An adult-themed kit found in the candy aisle of a grocery store left many shoppers concerned Thursday.

The Valentine's Day Love Kit, sold at Albertsons locations, includes fuzzy handcuffs, a blindfold, a do not disturb sign for the door, a tickler and dice telling you to touch, kiss and tickle different body parts as part of a sensual game.

The kit is adorned with pink and red coloring and could easily be mistaken for a child's toy. It is marked "for adult use only" on the back of the packaging.

CBS2's Kristine Lazar spoke with shoppers, who felt the Love Kit should not be sold in a place where mothers take their children.

Shopper Angela Justice said her daughter would gravitate toward the kit because of the coloring and design.

"She wouldn't ask questions because she doesn't know what is in there," said Justice. "She would want to get it because of the pink and red colors."

An Albertsons spokesperson said the Love Kit is a novelty item that has been sold in past years.

It is supposed to be displayed in the liquor aisle at Albertsons locations, officials explained.

In West Los Angeles, Albertsons locations will reportedly remove the item from the candy aisle to make sure it is seen by adult eyes only.

The game is being sold for $5 at various Albertsons stores across Southern California.
