West Covina Police Hope Photo Will Lead Them To Hit-And-Run Suspect

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — West Covina police hope a photo will help lead them to a driver suspected of plowing into a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.

Emilio Simon, 50, was crossing the street in the 1200 block of West Francisquito Avenue the night of Jan. 23 when he was struck by what appeared to be a silver 1997 to 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to Officer Eddie Flores.

The La Puente resident was hit around 8:10 p.m.

He remains hospitalized in "extremely critical condition."

A security camera at a nearby shopping center captured the photo of the vehicle, which is believed to have damage on the driver's side, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the West Covina Police Department at (626) 939-8500 and reference case number 15-654 if you recognize the vehicle in the image attached. Anonymous tips can be made by calling the WCPD Hotline at (626) 939-8688 and leaving a recorded message with information concerning this incident.
