Eagle Rock Search Called Off For Suspect Who Attacked Security Guard With Pipe

EAGLE ROCK (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday were searching for a man who attacked a security guard outside a Macy's store.

The guard was responding to an alarm call at the Macy's on Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock just after midnight when the suspect hit him in the leg with a pipe, the LAPD said.

He then fled the scene.

Officers searched the area by helicopter and on the ground for three hours with no sign of the suspect. The search was called off around 3 a.m., officials said.

The security guard was expected to fully recover.
