Residents Find KKK Propaganda Around Santa Ana Neighborhood

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — More than three dozen pieces of Ku Klux Klan propaganda were found in an Orange County neighborhood Monday as the nation celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

A resident reported that he found a "small Ziploc baggy containing a rock, a candy, a flyer, and a KKK business card on his driveway this morning in the 2600 block of N. Linwood St in Santa Ana," police said.

Anti-MLK writings were on the flyer.

Approximately 40 similar bags were distributed to various residences within a four block radius overnight, police said.

There was no specific threat written on the propaganda and no crime could be established at this point. Officers have collected numerous bags in the area.

In July, similar KKK recruitment leaflets were dropped around an Orange neighborhood.

Other leaflet campaigns have occurred within the last year in Virginia and South Carolina, where residents say they found bags of candy on their street containing a piece of paper asking them to join the Ku Klux Klan.
