Suspect Accused Of Shooting Man Sitting In Rolls-Royce Wanted By Police In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man in his 30s remained hospitalized in critical, but stable condition Saturday after being shot at in a parking lot last night.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent around 8:45 p.m. Friday to the 7600 block of Sunset Boulevard, located at the intersection of Gardner Street, for reports of shots fired in the area.

Once on scene, police located a man, sitting in the driver's seat in a new Rolls-Royce, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Paramedics transported him to Cedar Sinai Hospital, where he is expected to survive.

Authorities explained no bullet holes were visible in the vehicle, which led officers to believe the suspect shot him from above the scene.

KCAL9's Joy Benedict explained she interviewed the victim last year — identified as real estate mogul Kameron Segal — who is a known in the community as a very giving man.

Benedict explained Segal works for William Holdings, which is a property management and acquisitions company. Last year, she interviewed him when his company donated six months of free rent to a homeless woman just before Christmas.

Detectives described the suspect, who remains at large, as a black man who wore a blue cap and reportedly fled from the scene on a bike.

Police believe robbery may have been a part of the scene, however, the motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.

Anyone who may have information regarding this shooting is urged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
