Public's Help Sought In Finding Man Accused In 11 Studio City Burglaries

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Authorities asked for the public's help Friday in finding a man they suspect burglarized 11 homes in 4 ½ hours this week.

The crimes took place Monday at homes west of Laurel Canyon and south of Ventura boulevards in Studio City, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"Eleven residential burglaries in a short 4 ½ hour window is extremely uncommon. It's extremely brazen, and it's not something we normally see in the area of Studio City," LAPD detective Joseph Hampton said.

Detectives said the suspect smashed windows and kicked in doors to gain entry to the residences.

"I was the one who came home and found the house broken into, so I was scared," said Jennifer D'Anbrosio, a victim. "The door was busted open."

Detectives believe the suspect spent just two to three minutes in each home, grabbing jewelry, electronics and computers valued about $20,000.

On two occasions, the residents were home although only one of the two saw the suspect who wasn't armed, according to police. No injuries were reported in either incident.

Detectives said the suspect was seen driving a dark green late-model Mazda 3 with paper license plates from Carmax. He was caught on surveillance at several homes.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to contact LAPD's North Hollywood Division.
