Authorities Continue Search For Missing Palm Desert Executive

PALM DESERT (CBSLA.com) — The wife of a missing Palm Desert man pleaded for the public's help Monday in finding her husband.

Omar Arce Meza, 33, of Los Angeles, was last seen around 11 p.m. Thursday night at the Marriott Desert Springs Resort along the 74800 block of Country Club Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators say Meza arrived in Palm Desert on Thursday for business meetings, but failed to show up for any of them on Friday.

CBS2's Tom Wait reports a wallet and jacket were found on the golf course of the luxury resort, but the investigation is still ongoing as to Meza's whereabouts.

Meza's cellphone is also missing, according to Wait.

His wife, Diane Meza, said she last spoke with her husband while he was still at the hotel around 11:20 p.m., the Los Angeles Times reported.

She told Wait security footage showed her husband leave the hotel just after midnight.

"He spends about an hour inside. There is limited footage inside. There's not a lot of cameras so the only other footage we have of him is him then exiting and the last we see him is him kind of heading towards a parking lot," she said.

He was reported missing around noon Friday. Meza is an executive for AIG Financial Distributors, according to The Times.

Meza is described as a 5'10" tall, 160 lb. Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey suit, white shirt and blue tie.

Officials said "all available" resources -- including bloodhounds and search and rescue personnel -- are being employed. Authorities, however, say there is currently no evidence of foul play.

"We all worry about these things. It's just unreal that this is happening, that this is happening," she said.

Anyone with information as to Meza's whereabouts is asked to call the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station at (760) 836-1600.
