Police Seek Man Accused Of Breaking Into Oxnard Home, Molesting Young Boy

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Friday in locating a man accused of breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a young boy.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers were sent around 4:20 a.m. to a home located in the 1300 block of Bluebell Street, for report of a prowler.

Once on scene, officers learned from the family that a male suspect entered their home through an unlocked back door.

A preliminary investigation revealed all the window screens located in the back of the home were cut, and entry was attempted.

Once inside, the suspect then entered the bedroom of a 12-year-old boy, who was asleep in his bed.

The suspect is accused of then approaching the boy and sexually assaulting him, at which time the child alerted his parents of the intruder.

According to police, the parents confronted the man outside of the bedroom and ordered him to leave their home.

Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his early 20s, with dark complexion, that stands 6-feet tall and has a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, and a black long sleeve shirt or jacket.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Oxnard Police Department at (805) 385-3921.
