Woman Injured During Home-Invasion Robbery In Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A woman was injured when three men invaded her home Sunday night.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 2000 block of Nadula Drive, L.A. County Sheriff's Department Det. Brian Sandford told CBS2/KCAL9's Cristy Fajardo.

A couple in their 50s was robbed after pulling into their driveway.

Three masked men forced their way into the house, tied up the couple and ransacked the home for approximately 90 minutes, Sandford said. They reportedly made off with jewelry and cash.

One of the suspects struck the woman in the face. One of the men was armed with a knife and another claimed to have a gun.

The couple owns a business, that may be associated with jewelry, but it was unclear whether the suspects knew that.

"It's worrying because we're pretty sheltered, like I said before. Like, sometimes, we leave the house and we don't think 'Are the doors locked?' We just don't think about things like that. And now we should be more concerned and more aware of our surroundings," neighbor Kim Doan said.

There has been a rash of home-invasion robberies in the San Gabriel Valley but police say it's too soon to tell if the culprits in Sunday's attack are tied to the other robberies.
