Caught On Camera: Man Steals Purse From 94-Year-Old In Store Parking Lot In LA

WILMINGTON (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Friday in identifying a male accused of grand theft.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, around 12:00 p.m. Nov. 29, the suspect entered a store in the 600 block of North Wilmington Boulevard with another man.

Video surveillance shows the suspect followed a 94-year-old victim out of the store to the parking lot, where he grabbed her purse and fled from the scene on his skateboard.

Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 20s with black hair and a mustache, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, who weighs no more than 180 pounds.

The suspect was last seen on a skateboard wearing a black shirt, black camouflage shorts and possibly has a tattoo on his left forearm.

The second suspect was described as a Hispanic man, also in his 20s, with black hair and brown eyes, about 5-foot-7 and no more than 140 pounds.

According to police, the second suspect does not appear to be involved in the crime; however, detectives are searching for him as a person of interest.
