Homicide Investigation Underway In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Sunday in providing information regarding the death of a 31-year-old man overnight.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers were sent around 2:35 a.m. Saturday to the 4400 block of South G Street for reports of a possible shooting victim.

Once on scene, officers located the Oxnard man in the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound, authorities explained.

Officials attended to the victim for several minutes, however, he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

According to police, his death marks the ninth homicide in Oxnard this year.

The Oxnard Police Department offers up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those accused in homicide cases.

At this time, detectives have not provided any information regarding a description of those accused in the homicide case.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
