Boy, 17, Charged With Attempted Armed Robbery With Airsoft Pistol

SEAL BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rob a Seal Beach gas station with an airsoft pistol.

The suspect is accused of confronting a cashier at a Unocal service station located in the 12000 block of Seal Beach Boulevard shortly before noon Friday.

Seal Beach police Sgt. Philip Gonshak told City News Service a struggle ensued.

The cashier was able to gain control of the pistol and the suspect ran into a Los Alamitos neighborhood, Sgt. Gonshak said.

Seal Beach and Los Alamitos police worked in conjunction to locate the suspect.

The teenager was booked at the Orange County Juvenile Hall in Orange on one charge of attempted armed robbery.
