Mandatory Evacuations Lifted for Silverado Canyon Burn Area In OC
SILVERADO CANYON (CBSLA.com) — Mandatory evacuations issued Friday morning were lifted for residents of Silverado Canyon in Orange County.
The Orange County EOC warned citizens in the Silverado Canyon burn area of flash floods and debris flow danger.
KCAL9's Michele Gile reported the evacuation orders were lifted just before 2:00 p.m.
The evacuations were ordered for all homes east of 30311 Silverado Canyon Road.
Heavy downpours in the area have left just under two inches of rain so far.
The Red Cross has established a shelter at El Modena High School, 3920 E. Spring Street in Orange. Officials have also set up a hotline at (714)628-7085.
A nearly 1,000-acre fire swept through the Santa Ana Mountains in September.
