LA Gifts For Guns Program Slated For Saturday

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Angelenos Saturday are invited to anonymously turn in their unwanted firearms in exchange for gift cards to local retailers.

County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will host their Gift for Guns program from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Food 4 Less, 11407 S. Western Avenue, in Los Angeles.

Assault weapons will earn a $400 gift card to Target or Food 4 Less, while handguns will be worth a $100 gift card and a $50 card for all inoperable weapons.

Gift cards are subject to availability.
