Menifee Man, 80, Accused In Elderly Woman's Murder In Custody

RIVERSIDE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — An 80-year-old man was in custody Sunday for allegedly killing an elderly woman in Menifee.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Thomas Peterson was arrested and booked on suspicion of homicide into the Robert Presley Detention Center on Saturday.

Deputies said they were called to a home in the 27000 block of Calle Ladera around 12:22 p.m. for report of an injured elderly female inside of a home.

Authorities treated the victim at the scene and transported her to a hospital where she succumbed to related injuries.

Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

It was unclear if the suspect and victim knew each other prior to the murder.
