Angela Perez Baraquio Shares Her Story Of Becoming First Asian-American To Win Miss America In 2001

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Miss America 2001 Angela Perez Baraquio stopped by KCAL9 Friday to discuss her book "Amazing Win, Amazing Loss: Miss America Living Happily, EVEN After".

Baraquio shares her story about being the first Asian-American and first teacher to be crowned Miss America.

She will hold a book signing Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Gardena Mayme Dear Library, 1731 W. Gardena Blvd. Gardena, CA 90247 starting at 5 p.m.

The launch is supported by St. Anthony of Padua School in Gardena, where Baraquio is the current Vice Principal.
