Wanted Fugitive Arrested In Jurupa Valley

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A 27-year-old male fugitive was in custody Thursday after being involved in a domestic dispute in Jurupa Valley.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Gabriel Guzman of Jurupa Valley was arrested during a yard-to-yard search on suspicion of parole violation.

Officers from the Jurupa Valley Police Department explained they responded around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday to the 3800 block of Pontiac Avenue for reports of a domestic disturbance.

Once on scene, police learned a female and Guzman were involved in an argument, and the male had fled from the scene on foot prior to their arrival.

It was unclear if anyone was injured during the dispute.

A records check revealed he was a wanted parolee at large, deputies explained.

Guzman was seen running from officers in the area of Rubidoux Boulevard and Tilton Avenue.

Authorities said a perimeter was set up in the area while officers conducted a search with the assistance of a helicopter and K-9 from the sheriff's department.

He was located and apprehended during a yard-to-yard search of the area.

Guzman was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center, where he is being held without bail.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact officers at (951) 955-2600.
