Woman Escapes Murrieta Home As Husband Wages SWAT Standoff

MURRIETA (CBSLA.com) — Police arrested a man after he allegedly threatened to hurt his wife and waged a six-hour standoff at a Murrieta home.

Adam Gadbois, 26, surrendered peacefully to SWAT officers around 4:30 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 30700 block of Park Point Court, Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported.

Officers were called at 10:27 p.m. Friday about a reported domestic dispute.

Gadbois' wife escaped the house and told officers there were firearms inside and the suspect was wearing a bulletproof vest and gas mask, authorities reported.

Deputies surround the home and, overhead, a sheriff's helicopter monitored the situation.

A videographer at the scene said the wife, mother-in-law and several of the man's children were outside the residence during the stand-off.

A sheriff's deputy allegedly told the videographer that 12-month-old twin babies remained inside the home with the suspect.

Deputies did not mention anyone having been injured.

Gadbois was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of making criminal threats.
