Local Couple Tries To Locate Owners Of Decades-Old Wedding Video

HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — A local couple who found a VHS tape of a wedding ceremony from 1989 is hoping someone will recognize a pair on the tape.

Roger Campos says he and his wife found the tape while cleaning a cabinet after they moved into an apartment in Hawthorne in 2007.

The tape documents a wedding from March 11, 1989, and is titled "Tammy and Joaquin's Wedding Day."

The invitation says the couple tied the knot at the First United Methodist Church in Seal Beach.

"They were definitely in love for sure," Roger Campos told CBS2's Rachel Kim.

Campos says he immediately tried to find the owners and made several attempts to no avail.

"I called the number on the video and apparently I got somebody else's house number. They were not too thrilled," he said.

Despite this, Campos said he couldn't just throw away the tape.

For years, the VHS got lost in the shuffle until recently when his family moved and saw it while unpacking.

Campos decided to call CBS2 for help.

"If I were to lose my video, I would wish that somebody would do the same thing to us," he explained. "It's priceless. That's what I have to say, priceless."

Campos hopes someone recognizes Tammy or Joaquin or the church and comes forward.
