89-Year-Old Victim Identified In Reseda Multi-Vehicle Crash

RESEDA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought witness help Monday regarding a violent, four-vehicle crash that killed an 89-year-old woman over the weekend.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent to the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue around 12:20 a.m. Sunday for report of a fatal traffic collision.

A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a 2000 Volkswagen traveled Westbound on Victory Boulevard, which collided with the rear of a 2000 Nissan Altima, officers explained.

The collision between the two vehicles caused the Altima to go out of control, and it collided with a 2000 Toyota Avalon that was waiting to turn left onto Wilbur Avenue.

According to police, the impact caused the Avalon to travel backward and collide with a 2013 Kia Rio.

Officers explained Justina Larrera, a passenger of the Altima, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision.

Anyone with information about this accident is urged to contact detectives at (818) 644-8021 or (818) 644-8034.
