Angels' Mike Trout Wins 2014 AL MVP

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - After finishing second in the last two years, Angels' main man Mike Trout unanimously won the AL MVP for the first time of his young career.

Trout, 23, received all 30-place votes by the by the Baseball Writers' Association of America, announced Thursday afternoon.

"It's something special, for sure," Trout said on the MLB Network telecast. "If you would have told me this before the season started, I would have just laughed at you. It's just an unbelievable feeling."

He is the fifth-youngest MVP to ever win the prestigious award and becomes the 10th player in history to win AL MVP award unanimously.

Trout will join Don Baylor(1979) and Vladimir Guerrero (2004) as the only players from the Angels to win the MVP award.

Clayton Kershaw was awarded the NL MVP. First pitcher since 1968.
