The vandalism was discovered last Thursday on a curved wall inscribed with the Thomas Jefferson quote: "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." The names of local service members who were killed in action are inscribed on bricks in front of the wall.

Samano is being held on $20,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
