Metal Found Inside Leftover Halloween Candy Bar In Murrieta

MURRIETA (CBSLA.com) — Police warned the public Sunday about metal that was recently found inside a leftover Halloween candy bar.

According to the Murrieta Police Department, officers impounded a fun sized Milky Way candy bar around 9:36 p.m. on Saturday, after a grandmother reported the discovery of metal poking out of the treat.

Authorities explained the wrapper had been torn open and a thin, very flimsy piece of metal was found sticking out of it.

Officers said they plan to alert the Riverside County Sheriff's Department of this discovery in the event they encounter any similar incidents.

At this time, this has been the only reported case.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made in connection to the crime.

Police said they are not currently canvasing the area right now.
