Body Found Near Location Where 59-Year-Old Disabled Riverside Man Was Reported Missing

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Police said a body was found in a dirt field in Riverside Saturday near the location where a 59-year-old disabled man was reported missing.

According to the Riverside Police Department, officers received a call on Friday around 3:30 p.m. regarding a missing person, Dennis Guthaus.

Officers conducted an exhaustive search using helicopters and search and rescue dogs. Guthaus was not located.

The  missing man suffered from Parkinson's disease and could become disoriented and confused, authorities explained.

Guthaus was last seen in the area of Van Buren Boulevard and Alta Cresta Avenue.

On Saturday, family members told authorities that the body -- found around 3:15 p.m. near the intersection where he was last seen  -- matched Guthaus.

Officials said Saturday there was no indication foul play was involved.
