4K Moreno Valley SCE Customers Lose Power Due To Equipment Upgrade

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — More than 4,100 Moreno Valley homes and businesses were without power Saturday due to a planned equipment upgrade, according to Southern California Edison.

The power company blacked out 2,486 addresses in the vicinity of Ramsdell Drive, east of Heacock Street, and 1,653 addresses in an area south of Black Walnut Street at the Moreno Valley Unified School District, with outages beginning just after 7:30 a.m.

Restoration was estimated at 4 p.m., according to a SCE outage map.

More than 160 homes and businesses were also affected near Cactus Avenue and Perris Boulevard after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole. The incident was reported at 7:25 a.m.

Restoration of power for the 167 affected customers affected was expected by 4 p.m.

It was unclear if anyone was hurt in the crash.
