Rosemead Man Fatally Shot While Attending Party

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives continued their investigation Saturday into the circumstances of the shooting-death of a man in Rosemead.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent around 1:00 a.m. to a residence located in the 9700 block of Virginia Street for reports of a shooting.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a party took place where the victim and suspects attended.

The victim, an 18-year-old Hispanic male of Rosemead, allegedly asked the suspects to leave the party.

It was unclear if the victim lived at the residence.

A short time later, the suspects returned to the party with a firearm and shot at the victim, striking him in the torso. They then proceeded to flee the scene on foot.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died.

It was unclear if any others were injured during the shooting.

Detectives have described the suspects as two Hispanic males between the ages of 17 and 21-years-old.

The victim's identity is being held pending family notification.

The investigation is ongoing as the motive of the shooting is being investigated.
