Police Seek Hit-And-Run Suspect Who Mowed Down 3 Girls Trick-Or-Treating

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Officers continued to search Saturday for suspects accused of killing three teenage girls in a hit-and-run crash Friday night.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, officers were sent to the 1400 block of East Fairhaven Avenue near Jacaranda Street around 6:45 p.m. Friday, for reports of a vehicle collision with injuries.

Officers said the vehicle, described as a Honda CRV, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the victims, who were in the cross walk, were struck.

The victims were all 13-years-old. The Coroner's office identified them Saturday as Andrea Gonzalez and twin sisters Alexandra Perez and Lexi Perez.

All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the three girls were dressed in Halloween costumes and were trick-or-treating at the time of the crash.

Detectives located the vehicle at a parking lot in the 2700 block of North Grand Avenue.

The car was not reported stolen, officers explained.

The scene was cleared just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday.

At this time, officers have not taken any suspects into custody. It was unclear, however, if they do have an identity of any suspects.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact police at (714) 245-8665.
