30 Finalists Chosen To Be 'Price Is Right' Next Male Model

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  "The Price Is Right" has narrowed down their search to find their next male model.

Hundreds applied -- including men from Australia -- but only few were chosen.  Thirty men -- and seven from the Southland -- made the final cut.

The competition will be showcased in a five-episode, five-week  web series beginning Monday, October 27. (New episodes will appear every Monday through November 24.)

Like any pageant, the models will face a series of challenges and judges -- looks and a six pack count. But humor, charisma and the ability to think fast are also prerequisites, according to CBS.

The final three contestants will appear on "The Talk" on Monday, December 1. Online voting will determine the ultimate winner.

The winner will be announced on "TPIR" Monday, Dec. 8. The winner's week-long gig begins the following week.

The past winner, Robert Scott Wilson, parlayed his one-week job into a two-year stint. He currently appears on NBC's "Days of Our Lives" as Ben Rogers. (Wilson will appear on the November 3 webisode to tutor the remaining contestants. On this webisode the judges cut 17 of the men.)

The seven locals vying for the "TPIR" job are Erik Adkins, Northridge; Michael Mecucci, San Diego; Jonathan Morgan, Los Angeles; Andrew Phillips, San Diego; Brandon Sermons, Studio City; Marcus Watts, Murrieta and Ray Woods, Los Angeles.
