Police Seek Suspect Accused In Fatal LA Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Saturday with information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused of shooting two victims last week.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent around 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 13 to the 800 block of West 84th Street for reports of a shooting.

Eddy Lewis, 28, was driving his friend, a 33-year-old male, to the area that evening, officers said.

His friend exited the vehicle and was struck by gunfire; however, he managed to flee to a nearby residence and call 911.

Lewis was fatally wounded and his vehicle slowly drove off, eventually stopping against a curb. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

According to police, the surviving victim wasn't able to identify any suspects in the shooting, but believed they were standing near the sidewalk at the time.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact police at (213) 485-4341.
