Man Accused Of Stealing Campaign Signs Of San Jacinto City Council Candidates

SAN JACINTO (CBSLA.com) — A 54-year-old San Jacinto man was arrested on suspicion of stealing campaign signs, Riverside County Sheriff's officials said Wednesday.

Louis Secco was arrested at his home last Saturday and released with a citation, with a pending court date, police said.

An unidentified San Jacinto City Council candidate called 911 last Saturday to report seeing a man taking political campaign signs from the intersection of State Street and De Anza Drive, San Jacinto police officials said. The man was later identified as Secco, police said.

The thief had stolen several of the candidate's campaign signs, along with those of another community member who is also running for a seat on the San Jacinto City Council.

Deputies went to Secco's home in the 1900 block of Worchester Street in San Jacinto, where his vehicle registered, and found 20 political campaign signs and a political campaign banner, all of which bore the names of community members running for the San Jacinto City Council.
