Hesperia Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 16-Year-Old Female In Custody

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — Officials announced on Wednesday that a 21-year-old man was in custody for allegedly sexually assaulting a female over the weekend.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Pedro Cruz of Hesperia was taken into custody on Saturday for allegedly raping a 16-year-old female he met online through Facebook.

The victim agreed to meet Cruz and go to a party on Saturday evening, deputies said. He met the victim at her house and drove to a liquor store to purchase alcohol to take to the party.

Cruz drove the victim to an undisclosed location, sexually assaulted her, and drove her home.

On Sunday, the victim explained what had happened to her Grandfather, who reported the incident to authorities.

Cruz is being held on $250,000 at the High Desert Detention Center.
