13-Year-Old Bicyclist Seriously Hurt When Struck By Car In Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a student at Spring View Middle School has been taken to a hospital after being struck by a car in Huntington Beach.

The 13-year-old boy was on a bicycle at the time of the accident, which happened about 2:45 p.m. Friday, on Heil Avenue and Edwards Street.

After the crash, the child was transported to UCI Medical Center where he was admitted in critical condition.

Authorities said the vehicle, described as a 2010 Mercedes, stopped and the driver, a 28-year-old woman, remained at the scene.

No arrests or citations have been issued, Huntington Beach police said in a department statement.
