Ducks' Pat Maroon Out 4 Weeks With Sprained Knee

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Anaheim Ducks left wing Patrick Maroon will be out for four weeks with a sprained ligament in his left knee.

The Ducks announced the extent of Maroon's injury Thursday.

Maroon was injured Monday during Anaheim's victory at Buffalo in a collision with Josh Gorges. Maroon had been playing alongside Corey Perry and captain Ryan Getzlaf on the Ducks' top line.

Maroon agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Ducks in August. The power forward scored 29 points in 62 games last year, his first full NHL season.

Matt Beleskey has moved into Maroon's spot on the top line, and Rickard Rakell is likely to get more playing time in his absence.

Anaheim plays its home opener against the Minnesota Wild on Friday night.
