Iggy Azalea Leads American Music Award Nominations

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Australian rapper Iggy Azalea led the way with six nominations for the American Music Awards, while John Legend, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams each received five.

Azalea, Legend, Perry and Williams will go up against Beyonce, Luke Bryan, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, Lorde and One Direction for artist of the year when the AMAs are presented on Nov. 23 at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live.

Azalea was also nominated in the categories of new artist of the year, single of the year, favorite female pop/rock artist, favorite rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album. Her single of the year nomination was for her collaboration with Charli XCX on "Fancy." Also nominated in the category are Legend for "All of Me," MAGIC for "Rude," Perry and Juicy J for "Dark Horse" and Williams for "Happy."

In the category of new artist of the year, Azalea will be competing against Bastille, Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor.

Winners will be determined by online voting that began Monday at www.AMAvote.com. Fans can also vote via Twitter.
