Palmdale Couple Charged With Murder After Toddler's Death

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Palmdale couple has been charged with murder in the death of a 2-year-old boy, officials from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.

Brandon Jerel Williams, 25, and Rosie Lee Wilson, 21, face one count each of murder, torture and assault on a child causing death, Deputy District Attorney Theodore Swanson said.

The toddler, Anthony, lived with his mother and her boyfriend, Wilson and Williams on 26th Street East, the prosecutor said. Anthony, who had signs of prior abuse, was severely beaten on Aug. 21 and remained in critical condition until he died on Oct. 5, 41 days later, Swanson said.

A criminal case was filed against the couple on Aug. 26, but was amended to add the murder charge after Anthony's death.

Williams and Wilson are both being held on more than $2 million bail and are scheduled to return to court on Oct. 14.
