2 People Kidnapped For Ransom In Downtown LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday were looking for two people who they believe were kidnapped for ransom in downtown Los Angeles.

The unidentified victims were forced into a white older model BMW with a red convertible roof near the intersection of 7th Street and Alameda around 8:40 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Family members reportedly paid $8,000 for each victim in ransom, but the two people were not released.

He was described as an Hispanic man, 22 to 25 years old, who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 165 pounds.

Police believe he could possibly be heading to Mexico.
