2 Charged In Connection With Hit-And-Run Death Of Man In Wheelchair

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two people have been charged in connection with the hit-and-run death of a man in a wheelchair in Pacoima, authorities said.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Tatiana Cacho, 24, of Pacoima was charged with one count of hit-and-run resulting in death while Christian Salvador Olvera, 23 of North Hollywood was charged with accessory after the fact.

The charges stem from the Sept. 26 crash that claimed the life of 40-year-old Manuel De Jesús González near Terra Bella Street and Cayuga Avenue.

González was attempting to cross when he was struck by a car, which authorities say was driven by Cacho, and was thrown 100 feet.

Cacho faces up to four years in prison while Olvera faces three years in prison if convicted as charged, according to authorities.

The case remains under investigation, authorities added.
