Police Hunt Suspect Who Plowed Truck Into Coachella Home Injuring Boy, 8

COACHELLA (CBSLA.com)  — Authorities are asking the public to help them track down a suspect who crashed his pickup truck into a Coachella home injuring an 8-year-old who was sleeping.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Noel Cipriano Felix, 28.

Felix is charged with a felony count of hit-and-run causing injury and a misdemeanor count of reckless driving stemming from the Sept. 6 crash in the 86000 block of Palmeras Circle.

A witness allegedly saw the driver of the truck make a U-turn, lose control of the vehicle, and then crash into the side of the house.

The boy, who was sleeping in a bedroom, suffered cuts and had two teeth knocked out, Maxwell wrote.

A neighbor told deputies that Felix is her brother and that after he left her home, "she heard screeching tires followed by a loud crashing sound," Deputy Aaron Maxwell wrote in declaration in support of the arrest warrant.

The woman said she saw her brother running from the crash scene and tried to stop him, but he kept going, according to Maxwell. Felix's father told deputies a few weeks later that he hadn't heard from his son since the crash, the declaration says.

Felix is 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. He is believed to living in Coachella or the North Shore area. He was driving a white Ford F-150 pickup truck at the time of the crash.

Anyone with information about Felix's whereabouts is asked to call investigators at (760) 578-8814.
