Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Oct. 3)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Let's start with watches and warnings on this very hot Friday!

There's a Red Flag Warning  in place for LA & Ventura counties until 7 p.m. as well as a Heat Advisory for Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties from 11 a.m. Friday through 8 p.m. Saturday.  There is also a Beach Hazard Statement meaning a low-end advisory for heavy surf and dangerous rip currents through Sunday evening.

The high pressure and off-shore flow are still dominating and will continue to dominate into the weekend.

The very dry conditions and sporadic gusty winds are bringing high fire danger. While the winds really aren't that bad, humidity levels are down around 5 percent in some cases.

It looks like Saturday will be the warmest day during this heat wave. Expect to see some moderate cooling on Monday with temperatures dropping down near average by Wednesday.

However it looks like another ridge is going to bump into the area late next week. That would mean another hot weekend next week.

There's also another tropical storm surging up from the South Eastern Pacific called Simon, which doesn't look like it will translate into moisture for the Southland but it's good to keep an eye on.
