Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man was struck and killed Thursday by a Metrolink train in North Hollywood, City News Service reports.

Scott Johnson of Metrolink said the victim was on the track in a non-pedestrian area when he was hit by the Ventura County Line, which was headed westbound.

The incident happened in the 7300 block of North Bellaire Avenue between Sherman Way and Saticoy Street.

Johnson said service on the line was interrupted for more than two hours. At the time of the accident, there were 350 passengers on board.

Officer Nuria Vanegas with LAPD's Media Relations division described the deceased as a man. His age and name weren't immediately released.
