Brush Fire Erupts In Ventura County

VENTURA COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Monday were battling a brush fire that has scorched 50 to 75 acres in Ventura County.

The fire broke out near Harmon Canyon north of Foothill and Kimball roads about 2:30 p.m. and has prompted the closure of Foothill Road between Kimball Road and Saticoy Avenue, officials reported.

The Ventura County Fire Department said more than 100 firefighters have been dispatched to fight the fire, in addition to four air tankers and hand crews.

The fire had threatened some power lines in the area but no homes, officials reported.
