Windows Broken By Gunfire At Pico Rivera Chuck E. Cheese's

PICO RIVERA (CBSLA.com) — Several windows were shot out at the Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant at 6005 Rosemead Blvd. in Pico Rivera during a Sunday night argument between two men in front of the business, authorities said.

Lt. Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said one of the two men involved in the argument produced a handgun and fired at least 13 rounds, with four or five striking the windows at the busy restaurant around 8 p.m.

Video from Sky9 showed several windows with obvious bullet holes. A number of people could be seen standing on the sidewalk and in the surrounding parking lot.

One of the men involved in the argument got into a dark colored vehicle following the shooting, Meyer said. The vehicle headed toward Mines Avenue.

Customers inside the restaurant took cover after the gunfire erupted.

"We were just about to start eating and we just heard the shooting," said Sylvia Monte. "We went on the floor and looked for our kids. It was very scary."

Jesse Valdez told CBS2's Brittney Hopper that he came upon the scene shortly after the incident.

"I rode by on my bike and I saw that there was a car window shot out and all the windows at Chuck E. Cheese shot out, so I went to my friend's house to tell him there was a shooting right by his house," Valdez said. "My heart goes out to all the families that are in here because who would in their right mind go to a public place and shoot at little kids and families."

Meyer said despite the large number of people in the restaurant at the time of the shooting there did not appear to be any injuries.
