GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — A male teenager that was pulled from the bottom of a residential pool has died.

According to the Garden Grove Police Department, officers were sent to the 11500 block of Desmond Street just before 8:30 p.m Saturday to assist firefighters with a possible 15-year-old drowning victim.

Witnesses said the victim was attending a small gathering at the house and at some point disappeared.

His friends said they checked the backyard and found the victim at the bottom of the pool.

The incident is under investigation by the Garden Grove Police Department and Orange County Coroner's Office.

The victim's name will be held pending family notification.
