Reward Offered For Information Of El Rio Armed Man Accused Of Making Criminal Threats

VENTURA COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — Deputies were searching for a 21-year-old man Sunday that is allegedly armed with a gun making criminal threats in the unincorporated area of El Rio.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, Ralph Angel Lopez was last seen Saturday outside of a residence and threatened to harm family members. It was unclear if he was related to the family.

Deputies said they arrived shortly after 10 a.m. to the 1000 block of Will Avenue.

A perimeter was set up while deputies waited for more resources to arrive at the scene, authorities explained.

According to deputies, the sheriff's SWAT, tactical negotiations unit, bomb team, major crimes and other investigators soon arrived to assist in the search for Lopez.

Investigators were not able to locate Lopez during their search of the area and residence, officials said.

Deputies reported several road closures were ordered while authorities conducted their search, however, they were lifted around 5:30 p.m.

As a result, an active criminal investigation is ongoing in reference to the incident.

Authorities described Lopez as a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. He is no taller than 6-foot-1 and weighs 200 pounds.

The Ventura County Crime Stoppers offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of Lopez.
