Boy Tests Positive For Cocaine Following Drug Bust

MOORPARK (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old boy who was found sitting near a half-pound bag of cocaine after his parents were arrested on suspicion of dealing drug had cocaine in his system.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office said detectives found the cocaine in the back seat with the boy following Friday's bust in Moorpark.

The boy's father, Marco Cuevas, had several ounces of cocaine on him and his mother, Sandy, was carrying more than $10,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Investigators who served a search warrant at the couple's home in Sylmar found evidence of drug sales, several pounds of marijuana, $75,000 in cash, 16 guns, and nearly 3,000 rounds of ammunition.

The couple was booked into jail for investigation of possession for sale of cocaine, child endangerment and other counts.
